If you want a customized look, we can have our artist include the bride and groom's names and date of the wedding! Custom work can specify colors. Orders must be made 8 to 12 weeks in advance, 20 banner strings minimum.
$22/ strand. $150 art charge can be waived on the custom name page if the names are short.

General info

Everyone who has had custom papel picado banners made for their wedding, special occasion or restaurant/store, has been absolutely delighted with the results. Our artist lives in a very tiny village in Mexico but is internationally recognized as a master paper-cut artist. He continues a dying tradition and is the best of the best! He cannot cut less than the minimum order because he uses handcrafted chisels and cutting any less ruins the paper or plastic.

The minimum order for custom papel picado banners is:
20 banner strings (consisting of 10 14″x19 panels”) @ $22.00 per string = $440.00
Each banner string stretches to about 20 feet.

Plastic banners - 25% UP charge. 3 colors included.

You can choose your tissue paper colors (up to 3). Most colors are available in Mexico, however, the colors may be approximations of what you view on your computer screen at home. They are also available in opaque plastic – not as pretty as tissue, but practical for outdoor weddings in humid or unpredictable climates. (Plastic is a bit more costly than paper and weighs 5x more than paper for international shipping, so shipping charge will be higher).

Name page hangs best when the names are 7 letters or less. If you have long names, the page will be redesigned and may cost $50 more to create the artwork. The artist will add fanciful filler designs around the sides of the names and will add a very beautiful scalloped bottom edge.

If your names are not too long, you may choose “script writing” instead of the usual “block letters”

The lead time is 8 to 12 weeks. RUSH orders possibly could be reduced to about 3 weeks @ $150 fee. Depends how busy the artist is.

Orders are pre-paid with credit card and cannot be canceled once work has started. We charge on the day the artist begins your order. To get started right away, please email us the following information:
