This little deer hide bag is a Plains Native American Indian pouch. These small pouches were historically used by Plains tribes for medicine or small personal items like a coin or a watch. They are recognized for their intricate beadwork and cultural significance. It is consistent in design with beaded work from the Sioux, Cheyene or Crow tribes.
The beads are red, green and yellow glass seed beads - the front is adorned with a circle around a 4-point star. All beads are complete. The entire perimeter is beaded and all beads are in good shape.
3"diameter and the flap extends 2.75" to flap over to the front. It's leather string that opens and closes the flap is in good shape. Leather is soft & thin so it needs to be handled carefully.
